Sometimes, parties may be confused as to what orders are appealable in a Florida family law case. In the matter of Schneider v DeSantis, 1D2025-2609 (Fla. 1st DCA January 28, 2026), the appeal of an order granting a motion to dismiss was at issue.
This appellate opinion does not provide background information, but it dismisses the appeal with the following citation: “See Hoffman v. Hall, 817 So. 2d 1057, 1058 (Fla. 1st DCA 2002) (‘An order which merely grants a motion to dismiss but does not actually enter a final judgment is nonfinal and nonappealable’).”
